KNOW ANY CHUCK BERRY?
Glyn Bailey “Toys From Balsa” (GlynB Music)
As deeply unfashionable as it’s deeply enjoyable. The man
produces and sessions for an impressive gaggle of groovy people,
but he also plays in a covers band for fun and… he also writes
some sideways skewed and neat rock-pop tunes for the hell of it.
He can quote influences like Lennon and Bowie all night, but
“Sorry” comes on like stuff Green On red would be proud of and
“D Block Girl” is very Terry Hall doing, alright, damn you,
Terry Hall doing Bowie, but that’s a real Al Stewart acoustic
solo in there.
Glyn tells us that he has no expectations and
that this is a self-financed, self-released project and that all
visitors to his site are welcome. (www.glynbailey.com)
