To-Hell-With Ezine Review - 5th August 2005
Normally when i review an album by an unsigned artist,
i try to find something positive to say even if its
not my cup of tea. and my mum always taught me that if
you don’t have anything good to say don’t say it,
unfortunately thats not something you can really do in
a review!
This is guitar music by numbers, a tired glam-indie
plod and I find the lyrics cliched and often try for
that quirky english style of songwriting but fall
short. It's also far too long with 15 songs clocking in
at a massive 1hr 13mins. It seems there’s alot of
filler which i find over cooked.
On the positive side he has a good kind of David
Bowie / David Byrne vocal, ‘Missing’ is an acoustic
ode to a lover gone missing and ‘Friends’ is a cheery
fun way to end the album.
