Review by Shadowplay Fanzine - April 2007

Glyn Bailey (www.glynbailey.com)’s last record Toys From Balsa’s review gave the ShadowPlay website so much traffic we could hardly ignore his second hunk of vinyl.

Singing a mix of speed-up Nick Cave (so Grinderman) and Reality-era Bowie music and with an amusing Donny Osmond style cover Bailey will definitely appeal more to the wisened audience, especially with country classic style opener Yahoo (*The cowboys are making the law!*).

Also note must be made of Anne-Maire Schuller’s performances on Ghost and Glory which are rather enjoyable.

Zizou’s big day documents Zidane’s headbutt in the World Cup final after his dodgy penalty amusingly, again its very Bowie-ish, its also brilliant. See you later Zinedine, oh and I reckon he just called his Mum.
